Often it helps to share personal concerns or illnesses with our temple clergy. Please make it a policy to let us know if you or someone you know might be helped by a visit or a telephone call. Please don’t assume that we already know. A phone call or e-mail to Cantor Abelson at 612-374-0316 or babelson@templeisrael.com will get the message to our clergy.

Beineinu (Caring Community) volunteers connect with members of the community in times of celebration and need. Members welcome new babies into our congregation, provide support to congregants who have lost a loved one and provide meals to Temple members in need. They also develop ongoing relationships with Temple members who are isolated. Beineinu leaders have created networks of Temple members who can assist those in need throughout the congregation.

The Temple Israel Congregational Nurse is a registered nurse who can visit your home, the hospital or other health care facility and provide a confidential listening ear and talk with you about your health concerns. Temple’s Congregational Nurse can:

• Help you assess your health and wellness needs

• Connect you to medical, community and synagogue resources

• Advocate for your health needs

• Support you as you maintain the health of your body, mind and spirit

The Congregational Nurse does not provide medical diagnoses or medical treatment. The Congregational Nurse is not a home health care nurse and is not able to dispense medications, change dressings, provide treatments or perform physical therapy or psychotherapy.
