Temple Israel Sisterhood is more than 65 years old and enjoys a membership of over 600 women. Our vibrant organization welcomes all Temple Israel women, offering a wide variety and range of participation opportunities.
Sisterhood women join together for companionship and friendship, for programs to benefit the community, for social activities and for study. Sisterhood enhances the growth and development of its members through a wide range of programs. We expand our knowledge and connect with other Jewish women, expressing ourselves spiritually and intellectually.
Sisterhood depends on dues to continue our support of the many programs sponsored by Sisterhood. Sisterhood dues assist programs both at Temple Israel and in the community. If you are interested in joining, call Julie Zimmerman Berg at (952)926-9311 or email her. If you are at Temple, dues envelopes are available in the Temple Israel Gift Shop.
It’s September and Sisterhood is starting a new year. We hope you will join us. We have a very exciting year before us with many wonderful programs planned – some old, some new. Yes, we are keeping our most popular programs like Mah Jongg, Book Club, Art Tours, Preschool Mothers and Tots programs and, of course, our social action programs. And we are adding some new programs that promise to be stimulating and fun. Also, the ever popular Kol Isha weekend will take place the weekend of February 9.
So please do join us. We look forward to connecting once again with current members who renew their membership and we are excited to meet new members so we can form new friendships.
The request for dues was sent to you at the end of May. If you have not received the brochure, please call Julie Zimmerman Berg (952)926-9311 or e-mail her. We truly look forward to your joining us this year. Welcome!
Sisterhood is proud to present each Bar/Bat Mitzvah child with a lovely
gift in honor of this special occasion in their lives. The
gift has changed over the years and currently it is a beautiful
Kiddush Cup. A sisterhood member presents the gift to each
child at the Shabbat evening service of their B'nai Mitzvah
weekend. It is even more special when a B'nai Mitzvah family
member or friend is the Sisterhood presenter! Anyone who is
a current Sisterhood member can be a presenter! We will provide
several brief scripts to choose from or you may make up your
own. If you would like to be the presenter to a friend or
family member's child having a Bar or Bat Mitzvah, please
leave a message on the Sisterhood Hotline 612-377-6700 ext.
501 or contact Arlene Leibovich.
