BEINEINU (CARING COMMUNITY)

In Hebrew, "beineinu" means "among us." The Beineinu Committee promotes connection between congregants, and between congregants and Temple Israel, especially during celebratory occasions and the difficult times that we all encounter. The Beineinu Committee:

  • Comforts our members who have lost a loved one.

  • Supports our soldiers in Iraq and their families here at Temple.

  • Visits those who reside in nursing homes or are homebound.

  • Supports our congregants who have health issues -- we now have two congregational nurses available to assist those with health and wellness concerns.

  • Stays connected to college students with the "Staying Connected" program, which assembles and sends special packages to college students during the school year.

  • Assembles and delivers baby baskets filled with fun and helpful items.

Helping with one of the Beineinu initiatives is a great way for you to become more connected with Temple and our wonderful congregation. We constantly seek ideas for new programs. Your time commitment can be flexible and your service would be appreciated by many "among us."
