WORK AT TEKO

Spend your summer on Lake Minnetonka! Camp TEKO is looking for day camp staff to work with children entering grades K-6. Camp staff must be entering their senior year of high school or older. Although we are a Jewish Camp, we do hire staff who are not Jewish and who are interested in learning about the Jewish religion.

Machon – Entering grade 11
Students entering 11th grade are eligible to participate in Camp TEKO’s eight week counselor-in-training program. Machon participate in extensive training in camp counseling and leadership skills, communication and camp programming; creating life-long friendships in the process. Supervised by the Machon Unit Head, participants learn from educational speakers, guests, counselors and each other. As the summer progresses, Machon gain hands-on experience by observing and assisting in camper groups. Machon program participants are selected through an application and interview process and receive a $300 stipend at the completion of the eight-week program. Machon graduates are encouraged to apply for a staff position the following summer.

Avodah – Entering grades 9 & 10
The Avodah program provides entering 9th and 10th graders an opportunity to participate in camp life by taking care of the physical needs of the camp community and learning the ropes of camp operations. In addition to daily tasks, cleaning assignments and special projects, Avodah participants build their own community and lasting friendships while on a camping trip, through leadership workshops with guest speakers and while designing and building their own group camp improvement project. Avodah members are selected through an application and interview process. There is no cost to participate in this program nor do participants receive any compensation, but the benefits are great.
